Based on the bestselling novel series with over 40 million copies sold worldwide, “The Apothecary Diaries” has captured hearts globally since the anime premiered in October 2023. Fans are drawn to the endearing Maomao and Jinshi, and the thrilling mysteries that unfold in the imperial harem. INCUBASE Studio now brings the fully immersive exhibition, originally showcased in Japan earlier this year, straight to Hong Kong, inviting fans to explore a world of intrigue, romance, and palace life like never before.
Official Japanese Announcement Confirms Hong Kong as First Overseas Stop
With the upcoming Season 3 anime set to premiere in October 2026 and the first theatrical film, penned by original author Natsu Hyuuga, slated for December 2026, fans have even more to celebrate. The film’s promotional trailer revealed Hong Kong as the first stop of the overseas tour, sparking excitement across the community. Following the success of exhibitions like “Cardcaptor Sakura: The Enchanting Museum” and “Junji Ito Horror Experience 2”, INCUBASE Studio once again brings a spectacular palace-themed event from Japan to Asia—this time with a special visual design created exclusively for the overseas exhibition. Featuring beloved characters amid a vibrant floral backdrop, it perfectly captures the opulence and intrigue of the harem world. Fans can look forward to unraveling the complex social networks, thrilling mysteries, and subtle emotional threads between Maomao and Jinshi up close.
Iconic Scenes from the First Anime Season Recreated – Official Artwork Makes Overseas Debut
As the first official exhibition since the anime aired, “The Apothecary Diaries Exhibition” makes its international debut at INCUBASE Arena in Mong Kok, offering a sneak peek into Maomao’s investigative adventures before Season 3 and the film release. The exhibition is divided into multiple immersive zones, blending life-sized sets with video content to recreate iconic palace and pleasure district scenes from the anime’s first season. Fans can admire Maomao and Jinshi’s intricate costumes and explore the unique charm of each character.
Over 250 pieces of official reproduced artwork, storyboards and production materials—never before seen outside Japan—are on display, including sketches detailing Maomao’s pharmacological reasoning. A special “Behind the Scenes” area allows visitors to discover the meticulous craftsmanship behind every scene, along with autographed memorabilia from Natsu Hyuuga and the anime voice cast. Multiple Hong Kong-exclusive photo spots let visitors experience the fun of the anime’s garden party scenes and step into Maomao’s world.
Hong Kong-Exclusive Photo Spots & Mini Maomao Hunt
To celebrate the international debut, Hong Kong visitors can enjoy exclusive photo zones featuring Maomao, Jinshi and Ran. Fans are invited to dress as courtiers and join in palace-themed photo opportunities. The exhibition also features a “Find the Hidden Maomao” game: locate eight mini Maomao figures throughout the exhibition, photograph any two, and share with the designated hashtag to receive a Hong Kong-exclusive postcard.
