On April 28, 2025, the “Crayon Shinchan: Space & Time Adventure Interactive Exhibition” officially opened at Kai Tak Mall, marking the debut of the venue’s first major themed exhibition. Curated by INCUBASE Studio and co-organised by Yinghai Culture Limited and CR Entertainment and Production, the event is proudly supported by Kai Tak Mall, adding a vibrant new chapter to Hong Kong’s cultural landscape.

Spanning over 10,000 sq. ft., the city’s first large-scale Crayon Shinchan interactive exhibition has made a powerful entrance with its fun-filled immersive design. Based on the beloved Japanese original manga series that has captivated fans for over 35 years, the exhibition runs from now until August 31. Fans are invited to travel through time and join the Kasukabe Defense Force on a thrilling cross-dimensional rescue adventure. Tickets are now available via INCUTix, K11 Experience, CTrip and MPay, starting at HK$108 — a must-see event for all ages!

This exhibition is the latest creation by INCUBASE Studio, with Hong Kong as the first stop on its Asia tour. Mr. Raymond Ma, representative of INCUBASE Studio, shared: “We’ve always wanted to create cultural spaces for everyone in cities around the world. More than just an exhibition, we hope this becomes a place where people can briefly escape reality, revisit their childhood, and enjoy fun interactions with friends and family.”

As the first stop of the Asia tour, this exhibition blends iconic storylines and scenes from the manga, anime, and films, offering an immersive and interactive journey like no other. A special themed museum highlights 35 years of touching and memorable moments from the world of Crayon Shinchan. With 5 major themed areas and 9 immersive zones, fans can explore Nohara Family Living Room, Alien Spaceship, Future City, Dream World, Forest Adventure, Rakuga Kingdom, Ninja Village, Shinchan’s Time Travel and Shinchan Museum. Each area includes lively interactive games, custom-designed light and sound effects, and Instagram-worthy installations, immersing guests in an all-round, 360° storytelling experience. Every zone also offers in-depth content about the films and their design inspirations. A mobile app game adds extra fun — scan QR codes throughout the venue to unlock mini-games and collect adorable characters!

Over 200 Crayon Shinchan-themed products are available at the pop-up shop, ensuring every fan goes home with something special. And don’t miss the limited-time themed snack bar, offering tasty and beautifully presented treats perfect for both the stomach and the camera.

5 Themed Zones — Step Into the World of Crayon Shinchan Movies

An epic time-travel adventure begins the moment the Nohara family falls into a space-time rift! Visitors become new members of the Kasukabe Defense Force, navigating through multiple movie universes on a cross-time rescue mission. The 5 themed zones include: Nohara Living Room, where the adventure begins; Shinchan’s Movie Universe, recreating iconic scenes and interactive moments from classic films; Time Tunnel, a projection zone showcasing 35 years of anime history; Shinchan Museum, featuring rare exhibits like character evolution art and original movie posters; and the pop-up shop and themed snack bar offering special merch and food! Guests can take photos with life-sized characters like baby versions of Misae and Hiroshi, the Kasukabe Defense Force, Future Cop Himawari and her motorbike, and a giant Nene Rabbit.

Starting from the Nohara Living Room, guests officially begin their journey. In the Shinchan Movie Universe, detailed recreations from various films let fans relive classic scenes and interact with characters. These include: The spaceship control room from “Crayon Shinchan: Invasion!! Alien Shiriri”; The colourful Rakuga Kingdom from “Crayon Shinchan: Crash! Rakuga Kingdom and Almost Four Heroes”; and the Ninja Village dojo from “Crayon Shinchan The Movie: The Tornado Legend of Ninja Mononoke”. With vivid visual effects and music, guests can feel as if they’ve stepped into Shinchan’s world, experiencing every hilarious, thrilling, and emotional moment firsthand.
